Hansel & Gretel (Theater)
Location: The Puppet Co. Playhouse

A marionette adaptation of Humperdink’s children’s opera, full of magic and dazzling special effects. The puppets were created by veteran puppetmaster Allan Stevens, the lights, music and effects, are all operated by Christopher Piper, who also performs all the live vocal characterizations, including a singing Gretel. The production has long been a favorite of children and their parents and is an excellent introduction to musical story for children. “Hansel & Gretel” will be performed September 18-October 11, 2009, with performances Fridays 10:00 and 11:30am and Saturdays and Sundays at 11:30am and 1:00pm. It is recommended for K- Grade 6 and runs 40 minutes. Tickets are $10.00, with group rates available.On Sunday, September 11, 2009 the 1:00 pm performance will be American Sign Language interpreted. This event features craft and food vendors, classic cars and activities for children. Admission is free. Held rain or shine from 12 noon to 3:00 pm. Supporters of Montgomery Hospice “adopt” ducks for $5 each and win prizes if their duck wins the race. The grand prize is one thousand dollars.
